Editor’s Letter

 

Autumn-Winter 2022 Issue 104

We have working hard over the summer months to bring you the 104th edition of Design and décor, and it is packed full of wonderful concepts and ideas for your home and lifestyle.

We have had the pleasure of meeting some incredible people and visiting some wonderful places and I hope we do them all justice through our pages. 

Marthese and Stuart French share more about their fantastic life in Tuscany, and the joys of farmhouse county living, which I can validate first hand is amazing. It is a dream for most of us when our reality is fitted into a small apartment, so as inspiring as it is, we have also spent time with interior designer Kenneth Tanti and his brand manager Gianluca Tarantini looking at ways to be stylish whist being practical in our homes, they both share their brilliant eye for detail and there is something for everyone in these properties. 

I don’t know if it’s the sunshine or the longer days, but I have to admit summer definitely brings out the arty-crafty side of me, so I have been blown away by the talents of Sue Mifsud and Dorianne Cachia. Both these lovely ladies inspired me to get my hands dirty and try two hobbies that I’ve never thought about before. Much to everyone’s amusement but not surprise, the results were extremely different! 

So, I may need to leave it to these talented professionals to provide some pieces of artwork for my home.  

Of course, we wouldn’t be complete without some food and wine, and the talented Ljuana Xuereb continues to share delicious recipes with us together with a new chef to our team, Romeo Giacomotto. 

A visit to the amazing Ta’ Betta Winery in the heart of Girgenti, provides us with a peek behind the scenes, not to mention a luxury wine tasting. 

I have really enjoyed the collaboration with everyone in this Edition, from viewing a Madliena Penthouse with Maxine Borg, traveling with James Dunn or swinging back to the 70s with Rachel Balzan Demajo, to hitting the waters with Kenneth and Louis Coleiro and walking back in time at Villa Frere. It’s been a packed but fun Summer and as we head into the Winter months and shorter days, I really hope you enjoy it as much as we have enjoyed bringing it to you…
