Christmas is a special time of year when Christian families get together to celebrate the birth of Christ. It is a time for shopping for special food, wine and other drinks. Without a doubt a lot of money will be spent on this festive occasion.

For those who want to get away for a while but do not want to travel far, hotels in Malta and Gozo are very comfortable and provide special offers at this time of year. The Corinthia Palace is one place where I enjoy spending time. This hotel brings back lovely memories of a very enjoyable Media Weekend – during which we were spoilt for choice. At this time of year, I make it a special point to thank everyone who has supported the magazine throughout the year. The advertisers and of course the readers for their countless letters and e-mails. This issue is another bumper one with lots of interesting articles and ideas. Graham Stevens meets interior designer Kenneth Tanti who has just finished designing a magnificent luxury apartment right in the centre of Mayfair, London. He writes about this experience on page 14. A newly built duplex apartment located in the northern part of Malta is a recent project undertaken by interior designer and lighting specialist Olivia Anne Calleja. Andrea Christians writes about this timeless appeal in elegant and tranquil surroundings on page 34. Justine Lillie Helena writes about a beautiful bungalow that carries its charm through architectural features, rustic furniture and captivating memories of those who surround it. Tanti Interiors once again make quite the entrance on the interior design front by creating a home oozing sophistication while still maintaining a welcome feeling throughout. The property, featured on page 48, was transformed from a shamble of rooms to the design statement it is today. It’s all about Barbados, the sun, sea and G and Ts, says Jim Dunn on page 98. The island has everything one dreams of – sun, clear blue seas, a good foodie scene and perfect beaches. On his recent visit, the author stayed at the utterly comfortable and charming Coral Reef Club, an estate with over 12 acres of lush and manicured gardens right on a white beach.
