Editor’s Letter
Spring 2018 Issue 94
Spring is my favourite season as I am sure it is for a lot of you. We all look forward to the warmer weather when we can enjoy some sun outdoors. Every garden bursts into colour with gleaming, fragranced flowers and our countryside is still beautifully green after the rains of winter. Trees and flowers are in bloom and the air is slowly but surely warming up.
Giving one’s house a new look also proves enjoyable to Kristine Bonnici as she turns an old house into a new space – on page 74.
The focus this season is on creative interiors and the use of tradition in modern times, together with a good look taken at houses of characters, as well as modern houses and apartments. Creative Fusion on page 22 is a collaborative approach by two designers, Martina Salomone and Rachel Balzan Demajo, who tackle different aspects of a project – this time their own.
Victoria Galea interviews established interior designer Greta Apap Bologna on page 64. The designer describes how her parents’ encouragement and support were essential to her and eventually paved the way to what she is today.
Jackie Attard tells readers it is imperative to take into consideration the amount of natural light which filters into the space on page 56, while Kenneth Tanti talks about interior trends for 2018 and how these alter from season to season, just like fashion on page 34.
In ‘When classic meets modern’ on page 46, Justine Bartolo writes about that sense of excitement she felt when she walked into the home she would be giving a new look to.
A stylish, compact apartment with a distinct Eastern influence features on page 82. Andrea Christians writes about how at a time when property prices are high, the task of creating a comfortable home has perhaps never been so challenging.
We wish you all a very Happy Easter.
Happy reading!
